Please ensure you book the correct pitch type.
Touring pitches = Caravan, Motorhome, Campervan
Tent pitches = Tent or trailer tent
If you have booked the wrong type please let us know as soon as possible. If you arrive with the wrong type of pitch you may not get on site.

Information Regarding COVID-19
Here at Oakfields Camping at The Bat and Ball we take the health and safety of our customers, staff and local area very seriously. Therefore we ask that you have a read through of the following information so you know what we are doing to help keep everyone safe and what you can do to help us. We appreciate it's a long read but it's important!
Booking a stay with us
Please read all this information before booking. Bookings will only be taken online via our website or PitchUp.
We are not currently allowing visitors of campers on the campsite grounds.
When booking please provide name and contact numbers for all participants over 16yrs old for NHS Test and Trace. Alternatively send a e-mail to
Due to the nature of implementing the guidance to our facilities we have a reduced number of tent pitches available. Please do not book a touring pitch in place of a tent pitch. If there is no availability for tent pitches on your chosen date the tent pitches are fully booked. If you wish to book more than one tent pitch and are concerned about availability please email us to discuss your requirements.
No vehicles are to enter the campsite until they have been checked in at Reception. We respectfully ask you remain 2 metres away from any staff member checking you in.
You will be required to sign in.
You will be allocated your pitch. These are marked out in white lines. All persons and belongings must remain inside the white lines with exceptions made for trips out. (Please note lines may be less visible in low season due to weather)
During your stay
We respectfully ask you remain 2 metres away from people outside of your pitch, including staff, so far as is possible.
We strongly recommend bringing and using your own toilet facilities if possible.
There will be a one-way system in place for the toilet, shower and washing up facilities. (From 17th May)
There will be a maximum of 2 people in the gentlemen's bathroom. (From 17th May)
There will be a maximum of 2 people in the ladies bathroom. (From 17th May)
Please leave the facilities as you would wish to find them.
There will be hand sanitiser readily available.
There will be additions to our usual cleaning routine including but not limited to disinfectant fogging, visible cleaning log and even more frequent checks.
Water taps and waste water points will have a 2 metre box marked around them. (Please note lines may be less visible in low season due to weather)
Fire pits will still be available to hire. These will be cash (into a tray) only to reduce numbers into the pub for card payments.
Leaving our site
Please leave your pitch as you found it. Should need arise please report any issues to a member of staff.
Having a booking and then feeling unwell
Please do not come to visit us if you are feeling unwell.
If you have any of the following
New continuous cough
A loss or change to your sense of taste or smell
Please visit the NHS website for guidance on staying home and getting a test.
Then send an email us to inform us of the situation. We will try to rearrange your booking for another time.
Failure to adhere to above terms as well as our standard terms and conditions may result in immediate termination of your stay with no monies returned
Are you a dog friendly site?
Yes, we are! All we ask is that you keep your dog on lead at all times and clean up after them. There is no extra charge for your furry family member. There are no pets in the Shepherd Huts.
What size are your pitches?
Our pitches are listed as being 6m x 6m, however they are in fact slightly larger than this. If you are concerned or require a larger pitch please contact us to discuss the options.
I want to book as a group, is this possible?
From 17th May 2021 we will again be accepting group bookings. If you wish to book more than 3 pitches please email us on firstname.lastname@example.org
Are BBQ's allowed?
Yes, we do allow BBQ's. These MUST be raised above the grass on bricks and slabs, we can provide these. FIRE PITS are now banned from site unless rented from Oakfields Camping.
What are the times for Check In and Check Out?
Check In is between 3pm and 9pm. Any arrivals after 9.15pm will not be accepted. This is in order to respect those campers with young children on site.
Check Out is 11am. Please respect these times as this is our time to ensure the pitches are clean and tidy, mow the grass if needed and provide any general maintenance. Particularly in High Season.
I would like to book a Shepherds Hut with children?
Our Shepherds Hut are a two berth, adult only set up. No pets.
Due to the nature of the business our electric and water points are often central as opposed to per pitch. Therefore we recommend bringing 25m caravan electric leads. If you require an extension lead this can be done however we will take a £30 deposit to be returned when you give the lead back. This is due to increased theft of our leads when lending them out.
Please also be aware you are not able to charge your Electric Car or vehicle on site. There are 2 charging stations with in 4 miles of our location and a 3rd is 7miles away.
Are you open all year?
Yes! Please beware that due to being an all grass site our pitch numbers reduce in low season and booking in advance is advisable, we also do not accept tent bookings from late September onwards. There will be machinery and grounds maintenance carried out in low season in preparation for the busy season ahead.
